Fruit of the place that gives it its name, Barrueco is the new wine from Pagos de Anguix, a splendid, complex and highly structured red that will improve over time in the bottle. The property is located at an altitude of more than 850 meters in the heart of the Ribera del Duero in Burgos. The vineyard, between 20 and 30 years old, is located on a stony ground with a clay-limestone bottom, a key element in the strength, elegance and longevity of this black, the result of an environmentally friendly production. and focused on obtaining the purest authenticity of this place. Barrueco 2017 has been made only with the fine red variety grown with exigency, mime and patience, looking for expressiveness and structure. It has been aged for 15 months in oak barrels (75% French and 25% American). It is a powerful wine with a great personality, where you can immediately see an intense and bright red color that still retains its purple nuances. Its aroma, certainly intense and complex, initially evokes notes of red fruit surrounded by a background of toasted almonds and hazelnuts. Gradually, as it opens, its complexity grows, with hints of vanilla, coffee, cocoa, accompanied by hints of cedar and tobacco leaf. In the mouth, it is opulent and structured. Its balanced acidity and attractive minerality provide a harmonious and fresh set. It has a nice velvety, unctuous texture, which is like an affectionate caress for the palate. Its finish is long and slightly spicy. Barrueco is without a doubt an aging wine that will improve in the bottle for the next ten years.

About Pagos de Anguix
Pagos de Anguix is the winery of the J&C Prime Brands group in the Ribera del Duero, a project that makes the dream of the Juvé family to settle in this DO a reality. The winery is located in Anguix, a municipality located at the northern end of the DO, a border point of cultivation. It has a total of 77 hectares of vineyards, of which 35 of them are certified as organic and come from the additional purchase by J&C Prime Brands of the winery attached to Pagos de Anguix, Campos Góticos, recognized for having been a pioneer in the ecological viticulture of the region. The rest of the vineyard is currently in transition to be certified as organic. The Pagos de Anguix vineyards are located at an altitude of 850 meters and are between 20 and 40 years old. These are exclusively plots of red wine, which are the raw material of a wine designed to be long-lasting, although also optimal for immediate consumption at the same time.
